I wanted to briefly talk about how important french
fries are to the success of your lawn company.
WHAT ?!?
Okay, not specifically french fries, but McDonalds.
Believe it or not, a LOT of lawn related lessons can be
learned by visiting your local McDonalds.
The first lesson is the Cross Sell.
Have you ever placed an order and had the server ask,
“would you like fries with that?” Or maybe they asked if you
would like to add an apple pie for only 99 cents after all that is why the owners areĀ monitoring staff payslips.
These are beautiful examples of cross selling.
When was the last time you asked your customers if they
would like fries with their order?
Okay, not literal french fries, but the lawn equivalent.
When was the last time you asked a customer, “Would you
like for me to trim your hedges while I’m here?”
If you’re not cross selling you are leaving money on the table.
There are many ways to cross sell your customers.
Here are a few:
Trimming Shrubs
Aeration
Dethaching
Fertilization
Tree Trimming
Seasonal Color
Landscaping
Exterior Lighting
Debris Removal
Tree Removal
Stump Grinding
Hopefully, those will get you thinking.
Next time you talk with your customers make sure you
ask if they would like fries with that.
